Dreaming Bull Residency at The Silverlake Lounge

Tonight Dreaming Bull continued its residency at The Silverlake Lounge, playing its second of four shows. I didn’t take a camera or any recording device, and didn’t take notes, deciding tonight I would just dance and enjoy the show. And I certainly picked the right night for it. Dreaming Bull did a kick-ass performance. This is a band that just gets better each time I see them.

There was a good crowd for this show too. You know a band is good when other musicians make a point of seeing them. And such is the case with Dreaming Bull. They also had a lot of family in the audience tonight, with people coming in from Chicago and also Australia. Certainly worth the trip.

Last week during the first night of the residency the band played a new tune, “Pulling The Plug.” They did that one again tonight, and also played another brand new one, “Smile On Your Face.” And these new songs were among the set’s highlights. They finished the show with their wild rendition of War's "Low Rider." Kristen introduced the song: "It's a little low-riding number. Feel free to get really low, or to get really high."

Set List
  1. No Use
  2. Coming Home
  3. Lover Street
  4. Hippie Hobo
  5. Feed Us
  6. Pulling The Plug
  7. Smile On Your Face
  8. Bull Be Coming
  9. Let’s All Jump In
  10. Bull Rida
If you missed the show tonight, you can check out Dreaming Bull at The Silverlake Lounge next Monday. By the way, the band that played before them tonight – Magnolia Memoir – was really good. That’s another band I’m going to make an effort to see again.
