Guns No Roses?

I was never really a fan of the band Guns N’ Roses (though I do enjoy that acoustic version of “Used To Love Her”), but I’ve always wondered about the name. Was it intended to mean Guns No Roses? The apostrophe is only after the N, so it can’t mean “And,” unless it was simply a mistake that no one in the band ever caught. If it was meant to be Guns And Roses, it would have to read “Guns ‘N’ Roses.” It seems that was the intention, as the name came from the combination of two earlier bands – L.A. Guns and Hollywood Rose. So was it an error? I’d love to get an official response, so if you are a member of that band or have worked for those guys, please leave a comment with an answer. Thank you.
