On a whim, my girlfriend and I went to see The Buzz Maddox Octet at
Wingwalker Brewery out in Monrovia a week ago, and totally enjoyed their
performance. After that gig (or maybe it was during the set break), Al Alexio, the
band’s talented vocalist, told us that the band has a regular gig at Victorio’s,
a place that is much closer to where we live. So yesterday we took the short
drive to the restaurant, and were treated to another excellent show. The band
did two sets, covering classics like “Time After Time” and “2 O’ Clock Jump.”
There were also two birthdays celebrated by folks in the audience, and cake was
distributed to everyone in the room. Here are a few photos:
