Yonder Mountain String Band at Lodge Room 1-19-23: Photos

Yonder Mountain String Band put on a phenomenal concert last night at Lodge Room in the Highland Park section of Los Angeles. It was one of those nights when everything was just exactly right, and the jams had a fantastic energy and took us to some interesting places. Jake Simpson from Lil Smokies joined the band on fiddle for the entire set. And at one point, Nick Piccinni switched from mandolin to fiddle for some dual fiddle action. It was my first time at the venue, which opened in 2017. The sound was excellent in the rather intimate space. The capacity is five hundred, but the show was not sold out, and so there was plenty of room to dance. The staff was friendly, and the room just had a great feel about it. It’s definitely a spot I would return to. The show started 8:17 p.m., and, including the encore, was just under two hours. By the way, Jake Simpson is going to sit in with the band again tonight at their show at Belly Up in Solana Beach.
